Just doing research for a book design brief and found myself looking at the penguin classics. I stumbled on this and thought it was brilliant!
This is the first CD my band released (track produced by Malokai's Alex Greig). Continuing from the theme in an earlier post of happiness produced through cheeky illustrations and loud colours, I incorporated the members themselves into the illustrations which made it more personal to us.
We were asked to come up with a new identity for the Circle Gallery which is situated at the Station Plaza campus of Sussex Coast College, Hastings. It had to fit with the 'College Image' so I decided to use Century Gothic typeface, as that is what is on all of their publicity (including logos etc).
In this brief, we were told to produce a pattern 150x150mm which can repeat, and suit the purpose of wallpaper, wrapping paper etc. My idea was to produce wire fencing wrapping paper, something we see in an everyday environment that puts a barrier between us and other objects/places.
We were told to come up with a new vision for pasta, using an event which was taking place in 2010. I chose Wimbledon and went with the idea of the Italian dish of pasta and cheese sauce, making it look like strawberries and cream.

This brief was set by illustrator Peter Quinell. He introduced this because he was working on it for Wonderland magazine at the time. The brief stated we could show the watches in any way we liked, just as long as the watches were in the spread. I produced 2 A3 spreads and used a mixture of photography and photomontage, and its been one of my favourite projects to date!
This is a postcard for my band. The illustration was used on the MySpace (www.myspace.com/savingstrike) and also printed on postcards for publicity. The idea we wanted to convey was happyness.
